She then began working in residential adult foster care as a house manager, serving individuals affected by brain-injuries, mental illness, and other disabilities. In 2009, she transitioned to working with children, including serving as a supervisor at a crisis-shelter for children and as a children's program coordinator at a domestic violence shelter. Most recently, Renée worked as a patient educator at a non-profit healthcare clinic from 2016 until joining the staff of Heartland PCA.
Renée completed an A.A. at Lake Superior College in Duluth, MN.
