Anna Buchanan

Anna Buchanan

Anna became Heartland PCA's Administrator in August of 2020. Anna strives for success in every challenge she encounters, a quality that developed at a young age. She became the youngest Cross-country runner in her high school to go to state, and then worked hard to qualify for the Junior Olympics, successfully running under a five -minute mile.

Anna decided to further her education at the college of St. Scholastica where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and a Minor in Communication.

She became part owner-manager of her family's meat market and then, when she decided it was time to expand her management skills, invested in multiple rental properties. Anna also entered the home care field in 1993 and never left. She had discovered her true passion and helped grow a company from eleven clients to hundreds. She says that the everyday caregiving and personal relationships is what she enjoys the most.

Having a passion for travel, Anna, and her family of four kids, were fortunate to have the opportunity visit many places, anywhere from Canada to Costa Rica. However, her favorite adventure was the time she traveled to Ireland while studying abroad in college. Although a world traveler, Anna still enjoys sitting out in the sun with an iced tea during the short summers of Minnesota.

Determined and excited for the continued growth of this company, Anna would like to leave you with this as her goal: To be successful, you have to use each day as an opportunity to improve, to be better, to get a little bit closer to your goals. It might sound like a lot of work - and with a busy schedule, next to impossible. But the best part is, the more you accomplish, the more you'll want to do and the higher you'll want to reach. So, as long as you have the hunger for success, you will always have the power within you to achieve it.

Sonja Niles

DQP, Finlayson

First and foremost, I am a single mother of two amazing children, Vince and Mira. My son is 18 and leaves soon to begin his new adventure as a college student at Hawaii Pacific University, which I am personally freaking out about! My daughter is about to begin her freshman year in high school and receive her driving permit, which I am freaking out about as well! However, they are amazing and independent souls and I know they will both do outstanding things. Our household is also shared with my parents, two cats, and a huskie in the small town of Danbury, WI. There is rarely a dull moment.

Professionally, I have quite a winding path of experience. After graduating high school from Hudson, WI, I decided to pursue a career in architecture and interior design. This led me to enroll at the Art Institute of Minnesota. After completing one year, I transferred to the U of M to pursue my bachelor's degree. I was struggling to focus all of my energy into my courses at that time and decided to enter the work force until I was in a better (and more mature) position to make decisions about my future long-term.

After having my two children, getting married and divorced, I decided it was time to make a major change in my professional life. I worked as a Customer Service Rep for Famer's Insurance for a few months and then chose to get my insurance license for home, auto, life, and health. After being an insurance agent for a number of years, I was still bothered by the fact that I had not completed my bachelor's degree yet. I also had been plagued my entire adult life with the desire to understand why people behave the way they do and how to help those in need. This led to my decision to go back to college full-time at Purdue University to major in psychology. During my senior year at college, I accepted a position at Northwest Passage in Frederic, WI. This is a residential treatment facility that works with mental health and behavioral issues in children and adolescents. After approximately 3 years, I took a position at Lutheran Social Services in Rice Lake, WI as a Community Supported Living supervisor. I eventually ended up moving into Acute Behavioral Services which led to me working for Dungarvin, Inc which is based out of Mendota Heights, MN. I worked with a variety of clients around the Mora, North Branch, and Cambridge areas over the past 6 years. And now, I am proudly working as a DQP at Heartland PCA and excited about my new adventure!
